In southern Iceland, this impressive cavern of columnar basalt in the Reynisfjall tuff mountan is at the eastern end of the Reynisfjara black volcanic sand beach. Strong ocean waves have eroded the weaker parts of some of the basalt columns, creating the shallow cave and exposing interesting hexagonal shapes in the interior.
