Born in Seattle, Washington, William Hanley currently resides in Durham, North Carolina, where he works as an Electronic Resources Management Specialist for Duke University Libraries. In his off-time he is a semi-professional nature photographer who loves to display the artistic beauty of nature. In particular, he focuses on lines, shapes, colors, textures, curves, shades, and lighting as he meditates during photo walks. See Nature as Art is his motto.
To date, he has been featured in six photography exhibits at Duke University and one in the Durham County Library System. His work has been published in multiple issues of "eno Magazine" (the premier arts and literature magazine for the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University). In addition, many of his photos are currently available to view on the Instagram page of the Duke University Student Wellness Center. When it comes to photography, William's passions are nature, mindfulness and wellness.
When not enjoying nature and photography, William loves to watch movies by Hayao Miyazaki, watch Seattle Seahawks football games, play video game RPGs, and read various manga series.
