Chris LeDoux Memorial Statue
Dedicated on opening day of the 125th Cheyenne Frontier Days in 2021.
Wyoming musician and world-champion bareback rider Chris Ledoux was a veteran of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo Arena by day, and of our main stage at night. His statue depicts his two great loves – rodeo and music – and pays tribute to the career he built around celebrating the Western way of life.
This project along with the Marietta Dinneen Carriage Barn, was supported by the CFD Foundations “365 to 125” campaign which – thanks to the generous generosity of numerous donors – raise over 300,000 over the course of just one year.
Chris LeDoux was very much at home here in Chevenne. He was a celebrated football player for Cheyenne Central High School and first rode here at the "Daddy of 'Em All" in 1968. Chris' first time as a headline performer at Cheyenne Frontier Days was in 1993 when he famously said
"Whoa Cheyenne, well that is like the Grand Ole Opry to me!"
