Liminal_MSP by Colombian-born Artist Monika Bravo is a visual interweaving of maps, topographic elements, historical imagery of MSP Airport and Minnesota landmarks. The shapes, layers and composition are inspired by geological data and the natural surroundings of the land. These elements are interwoven to create a network of history, both natural and fabricated. The work is rendered in two large translucent glass mosaics that are sixteen feet wide and nearly eight feet high. Full of bold and vibrant colors, the float glass, manufactured by Franz Mayer of Munich, appears to glow while also revealing the soft silhouettes of views from both sides.
MSP Liminal connects voyages of the past to journeys of the present by inviting you to explore the many layers of history surrounding the captivating landscapes and environments of Minnesota.
