Journey to Rock Bottom
MSP Terminal 1, C Concourse Art Gallery
June 9 - November 29, 2023
‘Journey to Rock Bottom’ is a collection of artworks inspired by the running adventures of a blind artist who found herself stranded in Antarctica with marathon runners from across the globe. The artist, Minnesota-based Annie Young, created works inspired by the runners’ stories of perseverance, fortitude, triumph, resilience, hopes, and dreams.
The exhibit contains more than 50 works of painting, mixed media, fiber arts, and sculpture, and spans the 250-foot-long C Concourse Art Gallery. The exhibit inspires hope, energy, optimism, and the feeling that all things are possible.
A believer in allowing others to help in making one’s dreams come true, Annie collaborated on several pieces with her artist friends in the local community. Through this collaboration, ‘Journey to Rock Bottom’ reminds us that it is okay to ask for help and that we are stronger together.
