MSP Terminal 2, Gallery H11
February 2023 - February 2024
Every spring, the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) comes alive with botanical creations inspired by the museum’s collection. “Art In Bloom” is an annual four-day event where over 150 artists interpret art pieces in the museum's collection using the primary medium of fresh flowers.
Twin-Cities-based artist Mary Ann Morgan has participated in Art In Bloom since 2016. Her spectacular creations have won “Most Creative” (2017) and “Best Floral Interpretation of Artwork” (2018). Mary Ann’s pieces uniquely pair her floral design craft with her fused glass creations. She creates each vessel to mimic the artwork from Mia while leaving a lasting impression of awe and astonishment.
The select pieces in this collection showcase some of her Art In Bloom entries with silk flower replications of the original live flower display.
Art in Bloom, the annual celebration of art and flowers, presented by the Friends of the Institute, will take place at the Minneapolis Institute of Art from April 27 – April 30, 2023. The event is free and open to the public. For more information on the event, visit artsmia.org.
