As a fervent abstract expressionist, Minnesota-based Gena Cohen infuses her mixed media oil paintings with a visceral, bold, and honest quality, employing a highly intuitive process marked by a vibrant color palette and alluring textures. Her creations go beyond conventional boundaries, often incorporating mirror, copper, and other materials that interact with light – a nod to her self-proclaimed "obsession" with the sun.
