Connections: Skyscapes to Landscapes
MSP Terminal 1, SEE18 Gallery
September 2021 - September 2022
Captivating scenes across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa are brought to the forefront in Theo’s minimalist style, offering moments of calm as well as adventurous inspirations.
Connections stands in awe of natural phenomena: A few of the frames have been handcrafted from trees uprooted by tornados that hit his family tree farm during the summer of 2019. In every way, this collection is a celebration of our treasured connections to the land and sky in the Upper Midwest.
About the Artist:
For more than 25 years, Theo has studied the art of photography, learning from the works of other photographers that drew his attention, but always concentrating on his love of Minimalism.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Dorothea Lange, Michael Kenna, and Minor White, Theo cites the sand dune photographs by Edward Weston as one of the earliest inspirations: “The beauty of the shadows with the otherworldly look to them kept my attention. After all, it reminded me of the desert scene from the movie Star Wars.”
Theo is a member of the prestigious Royal Photographic Society, working towards his Associates distinction (ARPS), is a regular contributor to Getty Images, and is published in multiple books and magazines.
