Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: "The first part of my art represents his sacrifices to discover machines that led to X-rays, it also represents how he got overshadowed by other scientists. The second part…underneath the first part represents his most famous invention, the liquid interrupter, and what this piece symbolizes is how he persevered and fought through radiation injuries on his arm to continue developing X-Ray machines and getting his medical degree..."
