Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: "The lack of color present in the piece represents wanting to create an old-timey aura and the depressive state that everything and everyone was in back then. Additionally, the remaining orchid seeds on the ground depict the unattained objectives of previous proponents like that of Yasui and the hopeless state of minds of the people in the internment camps."
