Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: "I wanted to paint a story using words. In a picture, you look for maybe a few minutes and get a glimpse before moving on. In a book, you transport yourself to a new place and time entirely. You immerse yourself into the words, and you learn with the character. Because of this, books are the best way to tell a story, and I wanted that for my hero."
