Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: "In my painting I decided to illustrate Meva with angel wings spread to guard Inka as Inka clings on to Meva's coat. Ahead of them lies war helmets and a dark and unsure path. Inka is looking up at Meva who seems to be guiding her forward. This painting shows how Meva guided and protected Inka from the danger of the Nazi."
