Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: "Hedy thought if player pianos could skip notes, why couldn’t communications transmitters and receivers change frequencies so that sensitive information could not be decoded by enemies. Thus, Hedy and George developed a frequency hopping communications system. They brought their invention to the Navy so torpedoes could be launched from the United States and Ally forces without being intercepted by the Nazis."
