Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: "Al-Khwarizmi’s work inspired me as an aspiring scientist and historian. The impact that his work has made on the way we live today, from the math behind architecture to conservation statistics, cannot be ignored. It was my goal to illustrate his work through my portrait by incorporating what an astronomical chart from his time would look like as the backdrop for his portrait."
