Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: "To me, the most inspiring part of Eileen Nearne's story would be her resilience throughout it all, and her unwavering selflessness by not compromising her mission to end even torture. She stayed silent through torture and forced labor-- something everybody seems to overlook. This is what I wanted to express most in my artwork-- her fierceness, immovability, and loyalty is something I can only hope to achieve some day."
