Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: "I wanted to portray Mary Anning as she was uncovering the Jurassic world. She is peering into view of what she had unearthed. My painting illustrates the fossils she discovered. Although her discoveries were several years apart, I wanted to showcase both at one moment in time."
