After Yves Klein's "Winged Victory" from 1962, which in turn was based on the ancient Greek sculpture "Victoire de Samothrace" from 190 BC. The massive original has been exhibited at the top of the main staircase in the Louvre Museum in Paris since 1884.
KA$M's large unique piece reflects Klein's work and the fact that the figure represented is the Greek goddess of victory, known as Nike. The Nike sportswear company named itself after the goddess, seeking association with victory. Their "swoosh" logo has been added to the plinth.
Stunning large hand-painted plaster sculpture in a remarkably intense shade of blue, incorporating KA$M's trademark humour and depth. Measuring 16" x 12" x 8" and weighing 1.2kg, this is a unique piece from his "Re-Klein" series of works.
With saltire monogram and signed on base.
