Magnificent example of the combination of photography with traditional Chinese ink drawings. This sepia toned gem is a brilliant composite of the cranes, almost caligraphic bamboo and a gnarled tree whose branches look painted on. The overall effect is one of timeless calm and contemplative serenity whilst the individual components combine to represent longevity, endurance and harmony with the environment. Just fantastic.
This is a genuine vintage photogravure, printed in Switzerland in 1968. 12" x 9" print archivally mounted on 100% acid-free board.
