Born into a famous musical family in St Petersburg in 1952, Vengerov moved to New York in 1989 to continue to develop his music and photography talent. He is most renowned for his stunning images of ballet dancers, at once sensuous yet taut, sculptured and, above all, strong, powerful and supremely fit. He is a master of light, shadow and composition and his love and deep understanding of ballet shines through his brilliant technique.
