Sheep is part of my East End Series, which highlights the people in our community who shape the East End through their hard work, dedication to the environment, and especially a passion for what they do. This painting captures Max who takes care of the sheep at Eight Hands Farm in Southold. Every aspect of this family run farm portrays a love for raising livestock and growing food that respects the animals and the environment. It is a special place. I hope to bring awareness for the need to preserve the agriculture of the LI farms, the aquaculture of the LI waters, and the LI lifestyle that surrounds it.
