This gouache painting is a re-imagination of what it would look like for a young black girl to exist in the “Outlander” (A hit show on Starz) universe. As an avid historical drama fan, I always try to imagine what it would look like if i existed in these time periods. The Title “Sit Proper” is what women have been told for generations and this “lady” is ignoring those societal expectations.
