This series of works is a marriage of my abstract work and my still-life work. I use a palette knife for the abstract strokes and brushes for the subject matter. “Edibles” features a vibrant and abstracted representation of pansies with a focus particularly on the petals. The title “Edibles” refers to the edible nature of pansies. The petals are rendered with a mix of soft and hard edges blending realistic and abstract styles. The abstract elements interwoven with realistic details highlight my unique vision and command of technique
