My textural abstract work comes from an accumulation of years of exploring texture and color relationships. Each piece is comprised of layers of oil paint, using no medium, and left to dry prior to the application of the next layer. These paintings are reflective of the many layers we all possess within the totality of being human. Each event, each tragedy, and each joy leaves a mark. This has been a theme throughout all of my various styles of artistic expression. But I find the palette knife/squeegee work to be the most honest in its seemingly random happening that results in a beautiful tapestry of color, form, and shape.
This artwork is a beautiful exploration of texture and movement, utilizing a complex interplay of colors and strokes to create an immersive experience. The swirling patterns, composed of soft pinks, blues, and touches of yellow, generate a dynamic energy that draws the viewer into a whirlwind of emotions. The textured quality of the piece adds depth and intrigue, inviting closer inspection.
The use of color is both bold and subtle, creating a harmonious blend that feels both chaotic and controlled. The soft transitions between colors give a sense of fluidity, while the more pronounced brush strokes provide structure and direction. This tension between movement and stillness is one of the strengths of the piece, offering a rich and layered visual experience
