At the end of January 2022, I had an insistent desire to create some blue & yellow tapestry. This was a bit unusual since I have very little yellow fibers. But I dug through my box of found treasures and luckily there was a very delicate silver necklace with filigree flowers. I cleaned it up, added some glass beads and started to take the necklace apart. I randomly created 3 tapestries with blue and yellow and set them aside. In Mid February I decided to complete them and fell in love with how these tired out! They definitely complement each other or are great as a stand alone piece. (side note - with Ukraine currently under attack as I post these, I have to say these are artworks I will use to support a non profit that is based in the Ukraine helping youth, women or animals. This means 30% of each of the sale of these 3 tapestries will go toward helping Ukraine. Thanks for your support!)

These creative pieces are hand woven on an old fashion metal loom. Yarns are a variety of material, mostly unique one of a kind. Many will have yarns of cotton, wool, linen, mohair, faux furs, string yarns, flag yarn, ladder, ribbon, silks, rayon, polyester, velvet, chenille and anything unusual. Everything goes through a rigorous cleaning, winding into a ball, color sorted and showcase unusual yarns to become the centerpiece of a new tapestry. Jewelry pieces are found treasures that often are the inspiration for the tapestry. You may find a bracelet, pieces of jewelry taken apart and reworked, pin or a whimsical accent all of high grade vintage jewelry. Items are cleaned with alcohol and refurbished to sparkle and enliven these works of art. Many will often have swarvski crystals added into these works of art. Hanger is A large metal link necklace (recommend using a decorative nail to hang as shown - these are not included) that finishes the artwork for unique display.
My recently found vintage metal loom prompted exploration into boxes of scrap yarns, fibers & vintage jewelry that I have collected for a decade. In 2021, mini fiber art tapestry’s were born from these found treasures. Each piece of artwork takes hours searching for treasured fibers to combine textures, colors and design to infuse nostalgic harmony with the vintage jewelry accents. One of a kind limited works of art will be produced until the box of found treasures are gone.
