The Sun Shines Upon Me

This meadow was inspired by a walk through a fellow artist's garden here in Tallahassee. It inspired me to plant wildflowers during the pandemic. I have a small, native patch of wildflowers out in the backyard. It backs right into acres of preserved land. It attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and damselflies. Wildflowers that are included are phlox, salvia, coreopsis, coneflowers, ironweed and weed-like daisies. I dried some flowers and embedded them into the paint while wet. It always brings a smile gazing out the window and seeing what's in bloom during the spring especially.
