This painting was inspired by a trip to our friend's marsh home near Panama City, Florida. Early one clear sunny morning, my husband Todd and daughter Evelyn and I went canoeing in the bay. Evelyn was singing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Todd was studying the algae blooms and bug life near the water's edge and the grasses. I was forming this painting in my mind watching two pelicans perch on nearby stumps. It was one of those precious moments in time that I noticed and felt grateful that all was well in my world.
