While creating my piece "Anticipation," I felt that the underpainting looked amazing enough that it was almost worth stopping the painting at that point. But, I decided I would see the painting through to the original vision, and then re-create the underpainting. I transferred the same drawing with charcoal and then india ink, and carefully did a wipeout with my Raw Umber. This underpainting was perhaps more challenging than the larger version, since I had to find creative ways to wipe away spots smaller than my fingertip.
