The background was started with Watercolour, creating some textures, finished off in Coloured Pencils. The entire bird was in Coloured Pencils which was quite challenging with so much 'white' as white isn't easy in these pencils. Learning curve to maybe stick to pastels when there is lots of white in the subject. However, I am very fond of this painting and love the textures that I managed to create with the watercolours and enhance with the pencils.
