Full of Beans

One of my most successful and admired realistic paintings. Beans was a great subject to photograph and then to paint. I think it helps when I've met or know the animal I am painting as they actually 'speak' to me as I work. Yes, I definitely talk back! I was fortunate to be having a few lessons with a very accomplished hyper-realistic pastel artist when I was almost finished this one and she really pushed me to get those last final touches and really bring Beans to life.
