This abstract painting emerged from my deep connection to the healing energies of water and earth. This mixed media piece features a dynamic interplay between turquoise and coral—colors that have always spoken to my soul and reminded me of the underwater world's transformative beauty.
The textured surface invites both visual and tactile exploration, with sandy elements creating a three-dimensional quality reminiscent of natural erosion—the beautiful layering that occurs when water meets stone over time. Like rust patterns or weathered driftwood, these textures tell a story of transformation through natural processes, reminding us that change itself can create something more beautiful than what existed before.
What began as one painting transformed when I turned the canvas upside down halfway through the creative process. This shift in perspective revealed new possibilities, allowing the white birds—symbols of liberation and unrestrained spirit—to emerge organically from the composition. Each bird represents the release of a limiting belief, a moment of choosing authentic self-expression over constraint.
Turquoise, a blend of blue and green, represents the expression of emotional truth—speaking from the heart with clarity and confidence. Paired with vibrant coral's energizing warmth, these colors create a visual conversation about finding balance between passion and peace, movement and stillness.
"Wings of freedom" celebrates the journey of breaking free from self-imposed limitations and external constraints to reveal our most authentic selves. It's a visual reminder that sometimes we need to view our lives from an entirely new angle to discover the freedom that has been waiting for us all along.
