Painted in 2012, another one of my masterpieces. Started with thin application of yellow and gradually built up the thicker layers of color. Edgy brushwork where pigment was mixed directly on the canvas, but not too much. It is devilishly hard to set the brush down rather than continue to muddy the composition. The shapes were added in a spontaneous manner without too much thought or plan. Its better that way. Too much thinking is dangerous and unhelpful. This is a study in value and hue contrast. Blue and yellow are two favorite contrasting colors.
