This deep indigo CoLorField study (originally created about 2010) was a stand-alone piece, but in my quest to develop it a bit, i added a figure to it in 2017, inspired by a Picasso drawing. It is much more interesting now: A transparent Greek classic nude figure outline, in an inquisitive pose, on top of the luscious jewel tone sapphire, lapis-lazuli, indigo, ultramarine with traces of amber and spring green, oranges and yellows barely blended directly on to the canvas. i love this piece. i donated it to a fundraiser for AIDS research at Sebastopol Center for the Arts where it was bought via silent auction by my good friend and fellow artist, Michelle Marques.
