Color pencil renders the hand pressed flat—fingers splayed, flesh compressed against an unseen surface. "The hand, flattened" examines solitude's dual nature: the hand reaching outward from self-imposed isolation, testing whether being alone is chosen freedom or enforced separation. The flattened form captures the pressure of boundaries we both create and encounter when existing outside connection, documenting what it means to be contained by one's own space.
