This piece layers texture and transparency to explore how land is both shaped and perceived. A stitched mesh floats between rich green dense stitching and a gleaming square of gold leaf—invoking the interplay between the physical structure of the Irish landscape and the unseen systems of value and ownership layered over it. The grid suggests cultivated land, boundaries, or fencing, while its transparency invites viewers to look through and beyond, reminding us of the histories and meanings embedded in the ground beneath our feet.
