Chammed Bas Relief. A chammed work of art can be either a sculpture or a picture. Both are bas (low) relief images, of the same object as seen from opposite directions. This allows a person to touch both sides at the same time which means they can see the entire object, through touch, all at once. This give the tactile illusion that the sculptures are much more three dimensional than they actually are. The illustrations can contain much more information than one-sided tactile graphics are able to convey.
