The Ones Who Run With Her emerges from the artist’s fascination with borderland folklore and desert cosmologies. The work was inspired by a recurring childhood dream: wandering into the desert at dusk, accompanied by a herd of wild javelinas that seemed to both guide and pursue her. In these dreams, the sky was never empty—bright, geometric forms hovered overhead, symbols she later came to associate with wayfinding, ritual, and the coded language of memory.
