I walk the greenways pretty vigorously and my favorite stop was at the bridge that crossed over the creek to the t-intersection. To the right at the end of the bridge was a mimosa tree that had branches that extended long enough that I could reach out and touch its leaves and pink blooms. Sometimes I would cross the bridge and continue on to the left or right, or just linger at the end of the bridge to admire the tree. Park and Recreation began a water restoration project that included widening the creek at the cost of tearing down many of the trees that grew along the edge of the creek. One day, as I approached the bridge, I saw that my mimosa tree also met its unfortunate end. I am grateful that I took many pictures of it beforehand and thus I created a commemorative work of the beautiful tree that I saw every week at the end of the bridge.
