La Barca (The Boat) symbolizes the journey through the manifested world, and also through the afterlife. Its passengers don’t look back, for they might regret their decision. For them, La Barca is a symbol of perceivable safety, an opportunity for survival and protection against the dangers that may arise. The journey is, in fact, a ceremony of rebirth.
