This was the first of several paintings that began as mono prints I made for an exhibition held at the Royal Academy of Arts in 2017 called 'At the Edge of Printing' curated by Tess Jaray. I developed a new technique where I painted onto a copper plate with oil based inks onto cotton printmaking paper, then worked into the image with watercolour aiming to evoke a jewel-like landscape
