The wind always floats like a spirit through a cholla skeleton. After a cholla has died, it's skeleton still provides nature with other resources: A place for seeds to catch and start. A place of safety for small animals. Even a bit of shade. And up close, with the blue desert sky behind it, the cholla presents a unique abstract image.
