A crowd gathers to support a victim of clergy abuse found unconscious in a local river. Patrick McSorley, 29, later recovered and said he had not attempted suicide. Eight months later he was found dead of a drug overdose. McSorley was one of the first victims to speak publicly about his abuse in 2002, and was one of the most visible critics of the church’s practice of shuffling known predators from parish to parish.
