Drawn on-site in North Cascades National Park. East Creek was a peaceful resting spot within an otherwise wild adventure. We stopped here for a break, on our way down the mountain after a long and strenuous overnight hike. The bridge at the beginning of this trail is washed out, and the trail has not been maintained since. Our overnight hike involved crossing over a swollen river on a fallen tree trunk, clambering over downed trees and lots of bush waking and path finding. Needless to say, we saw no one over the course of 2 days. And yes, the banks of East Creek are as wild and overgrown as it appears in this plein-air oil pastel.
