The astrology series used each astrological symbol as a design starting point. It was developed between 1981 and 1985.

Pisces was the last piece in the series.

As the series developed, the density of the black and white began to seem overbearing. One result was that the later pieces in the series started to come together more holistically. Another result was that the yearning for color began to move the work in a different direction. The creation of small color pieces while working on the large black-and-white pieces freed things up a bit stylistically.
