Painted during the height of the pandemic, Midnight Sunflowers was created live at the Syracuse Artisan Farm Market—one of the few places I could safely connect with others and share my art during the shutdown. Each Saturday morning, I would set up my easel and paint among local vendors. A particularly lovely woman sold wildflower bouquets from her own yard, and her flowers often inspired my palette. This piece grew from one of those market mornings, where art, community, and nature came together under open skies.
