Two cartes de visite depicting the old Presbyterian Church in Elyria, Ohio; one interior and one exterior. Established in 1824, the church first began as a log cabin. The 1848 Gothic Revival sandstone church was designed by R.A. Sheldon of New York and erected by H.J. and S.C. Brooks of Elyria for the cost of at least $8,000. It stood at the corner of Court and 2nd Streets next to Ely square. First Congregational Church now stands at the same site.
