Marbled fore-edge. Introduction by Charles Clinton. Bookplate indicates that this particular book belonged to DeWitt Clinton (1769-1828), U.S. Senator and Governor of New York State (1817-22 and 1825-28). The inscription inside of the book reveals that DeWitt Clinton was not yet Governor, but Lieutenant Governor (1811-13) and Mayor of New York City (1811-15) at the time it was written.
The book contains Latin passages of the Old Testament.
