Depicts a barn that stood on route 28 near Knights Farm, Herkimer, New York. It was the former rifle testing building for Remington Arms Co., Ilion, built in 1915 to test guns for Great Britain, and later the USA in World War I. Testing stopped in 1919 and Remington gave the building to Lucius Knights. New York State then purchased the land upon which it stood in order to widen the road, which prompted Lucius to raze the building. A new barn was built in 1929 using armory parts, the old horse barn, and old stone crusher bin.
