Post-fire forest landscapes fascinate me. The skeletal trees stand, waiting until new life comes and takes over. Like a pheonix the forest will rise again, and grow on the riches of it's own past destruction. It speaks to me as a place of loss, and of hope. The moment in this painting is like a breath, a pause at a turning point, before the new era begins.
