CONCEPT:
"We do not air or spread our dirty linen in public!"
The form of this piece is like clothing spread on a clothesline. It alludes to the notion of 'caution' and 'preservation'. Preservation of oneself, and preservation of who we are as a people.
MATERIAL:
Tipping cork paper from stubbed cigarettes.
PROCESS/TECHNIQUE:
Collage. mimicking fabric design patterns.
FITTING TO THE EXHIBITION THEME:
By concept of textile - allusion to clothing - in meaning and in form.
By my work, I am constantly working to repair and fix broken parts, alluding to the idea of reconstruction, building up, and repair.
