This piece commemorates the recovery process after the 2011 Bastrop County Complex fire in Bastrop Texas, which destroyed over 1600 structures and over 32,000 acres. The area continues to struggle. Areas of the fragile Lost Pines continue to burn in smaller sections each year, and more is needed to educate the public on how to proactively protect our small Lost Pines tree population.
Landscape mixed media 20" x 20" x 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas featuring a single Lost Pines Loblolly tree. Created using vintage paper, acrylic, gesso, and colored pencil. No varnish.
This is a gallery wrap canvas with the image continued around the edges, so no frame is necessary; this piece is ready to hang.
